Hike WILD & WINE Tour

Are you the adventurous type? Do you love wildlife and nature, and you're looking for a way to experience South Africa's gorgeous landscapes? Do you love to hike? Then this is the unique, fully hosted tour you've been looking for! Feel strong as you exercise off the previous night's wine and dine! Indulge yourself while sightseeing in the world-renowned Garden Route. We will also go on game drives for a few days to break up the physical activity with a bit of wildlife! 

Possible stops on your Hike WILD&WINE itinerary:

  • Arrive in Cape Town and stay at a boutique hotel or BnB. We'll hike Table Mountain and Cape Point.

  • Stay in the Cape Wine Region on a wine farm, in Stellenbosch or Franschhoek. Hike to waterfalls and vistas of winelands. Go on exclusive wine tasting experiences and meet the wine makers.

  • Visit Hermanus and go whale watching (in season) with a responsible local outfitter.

  • Hike in Greyton Nature Reserve on Bosmanskloof Trail, and see its vibrant flora and fauna, including fynbos, flowers, baboons and antelope.

  • Stay at guest farms and learn about South Africa's lesser-known communities and cultures.

  • Visit a game reserve and go on game drives (safari) as a break between hiking days. If we're lucky, we may see all Big 5!

  • Stay above the forest in a tree house along the coast, with amazing views of the mountains and close access to forested hikes.

  • Hike Robberg Peninsula near Plettenberg Bay and look out for seals, whales and dolphins.

  • Experience Tsitsikamma National Park with winding trails and views of the Indian Ocean.

  • Finish with a stay in a conservation estate, hiking seemingly endless of trails and looking out for endemic wildlife.

  • Possible add-ons: paragliding, bungee jumping, mountain biking, sky diving, private wine tours, museum visits and more.


We will alternate between self-catering accommodation, BnBs, lodges, and will enjoy delicious food and wine at restaurants, hosted dinners and over braais (South African BBQ!). 


This is a fully guided 12-day tour with the option of extending your tour with additional experiences in Addo National Park, and more. Transport between venues is included, as well as breakfast and packed lunch each day.
